Project LIGHT: Australia

In collaboration with Mind Heart Connect we are deeply honored to be bringing our train-the-trainer Project LIGHT model to the unique community of Robinvale, where we will partner with community elders and youth to create the first trauma healing and peace building program of its kind for traumatized Aborigine and Refugee youth. During our Nurture*Heal*Transform event we will lay the groundwork for Robinvale to become a beacon of light for healing transgenerational trauma and cultural integration in Australia and in our world.

Project LIGHT: Newtown

On December 14, 2012 one of the worst school shootings took place at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT. As a Newtown resident, Nick Ortner was anxious to help his community and called in Dr. Leyden just days later to head up Mr. Ortner’s Foundation and establish the first US community-based trauma healing program based on Tapping serving those affected by the tragedy.

Just two months later, Project LIGHT: Rwanda Ambassadors were reaching out to a 12-year-old boy who had lost his brother in the shooting. Our documentary, When I Was Young, I Said I Would Be Happy tells the story of what is possible when our traumatized young people in the world are able to connect and heal.

Huge “thank you” to Nick Ortner and The Tapping Solution Foundation for making Project LIGHT a reality.

Project LIGHT: Rwanda

Over the last 10 years, our trainings have impacted hundreds and hundreds of Rwandans across the country. In 2016 we made 4 train-the-trainer trips to Rwanda to scale our Project LIGHT train-the-trainer model with African Peace Partners, CBOPE Conflict Transformation Mediators, Never Again Rwanda, the largest peace building organization in Rwanda and Rwanda Correctional Services Social Workers from 13 of the 14 prisons in the country housing over 54,000 inmates.

2016 Healing and Social Cohesion Conference, Kigali, Rwanda– Keynote Address

As a result of her work with Never Again Rwanda, Dr. Leyden was invited to make a keynote address on Healing Transgenerational Trauma at Never Again Rwanda and Interpeace’s first annual Healing and Social Cohesion Conference bringing 100 peacebuilders from war torn countries around the world was very well respected and received.
